SIDE TOURNAMENT - SPEED SCRABBLE CONTINUES AT 2006 Speed Scrabble Classic |
|
|
From grassroots to mainstream, the first-ever
(that we know of) Speed Scrabble tournament was held in Stamford CT at the
2002 Spring Classic. More than 20 players tried their skills at the ultimate word
test...playing a game in less than 5 minutes. Now, many classics
later, Speed Scrabble has grown to be one of the most popular events at the
Classic. With so little time, the game allows the
fast-thinking novices to play neck and neck with the experts where there is
no time to show-off vocabulary and stellar strategic moves. Losing 1
point per second over, It's against the clock to make make play after play
to empty the bag. |
